And so the last day of reading starts.. I just had some eggs on toast and started watching Doctor Who, an episode from season 3 called The Shakespeare Code. I know that I am repeating myself, but it's just not the same without Rose :(
After that I will go on with The Paper Magician - I read some more in bed last night and finished 25% already. The description of magic in the story is not very detailed. Ceony just uses it but how and why and where it comes from doesn't get explained. Maybe I am spoiled by Sanderson but I find it lacking in this area.. Also the author likes to repeat special words and phrases quite often. The style of writing isn't very elaborate. Still, It's an easy read and I find it entertaining, especially now that some unexpected things are happening.
Update #1: 14:48
I just finished The Paper Magician and already preordered the second book. Although it was not very detailed and lacked explanations, it was a fun and easy read. But to be honest - It's mostly the cute lovestory that kept me reading :D and the cute paper dog ;-)
Nice magical tale that doesn't have an open ending for a change.
I will continue with Steelheart now. Fortunately the weather today is great so I can read in the garden :)
Update #2: 16:38
Instead of reading Steelheart, I decided to have a look at my 3 remaining new books. And while all of them sound promising, The Queen of the Tearling by Erika Johansen wouldn't let me go! I guess at the moment I am more into strong female protagonists and a bit of romance than dudes looking out for vengeance and surrounding themselves with annoying Mary Sue's (yes, I mean you, Megan!).
